Welcome to Year 6R!
We are a class of 21 children and our teacher is Mr Rodrigo, again. We are very lucky this year because we have a lot of other teachers and adults working with us in specific lessons, such as: Miss Grogan, Miss Pipkin, Miss Le Flemming and Ms Holloway.
Mr Vijay teaches P.E, on a Friday so it is important that we remember to bring in our kits, as we will not be allowed to take part otherwise. Mr Kearney also teaches computing on Friday.
On Thursdays, we have a new music teacher called Mr Watson, currently we are working on a musical performance, that we will be showcasing in the near future.
This term, our topic is ‘The Great War’ which is very exciting. We have already had a workshop, where we re-enacted a scene from World War 1. In addition to this, we have been learning about the key battles, strategies and effect of the War on all those alive at the time.
In English, we are working on the book ‘Private Peaceful’, focusing on using really descriptive language when writing persuasive texts and writing a diary entry as one of the main characters.
English and spelling homework goes home on a Monday, Maths on a Wednesday and RE homework on a Friday this will certainly keep us busy and it is very important that we complete it on time in order to prepare us for the year ahead!
We have had a fantastic start to year 6 and we will continue to put 100% into our work to make sure it is a fun and happy year for everyone!
