In Spring 1, Year 5 learnt a range of gymnastic positions while jumping and how to use momentum to help them roll over their shoulder and to roll backwards. They have also learnt how to perform a range of rolls and to include these in sequences that flow. As well as this, Year 5 have learnt how to take weight on different body parts and to add progressions. Towards the end of our Gymnastic sessions, they created, rehearsed and performed their gymnastic sequences using what they had learnt through the half term. Once everyone had performed, the children received peer feedback and identified which medal challenge level their sequence was.
