Crime and Punishment

This half term, we have been studying 'Crime and Punishment' across Anglo-Saxon, Tudor, Victorian periods and during WW2 to the present day. We have learnt how different both the crimes and punishments were  for each period in time and why that might be. As well as  this, we have made some links between these periods for example during the Anglo-Saxon, Tudor and Victorian periods, punishments were made public in order to deter the rest of society to commit a crime. We also learnt that there was a police force until the Victorian era and how their role changed significantly during WW2.
