Multiplication Tables
Each week there will be a Hit the Button task to help improve the children's mental fluency when recalling their times tables. They will be set a specific times table or will be asked to complete a mixed set. This will be a compulsory weekly part of homework, regardless of whether the other task is Maths or English, the times table game will be in addition to this and failure to not complete it will result in homework club,
Seesaw
Homework will be set on seesaw every week as of Friday 16th September.
Maths and English will alternate each week so that the children can embed and consolidate what they have learnt at school. Their log in details can be found inside the front or back cover of their reading records.
Home Reading
Books will go home daily with the children and they are expected to read at least 3 times a week. Page numbers will not be specified so that you can read as little or as much as you are able to. Please sign the reading record to let us know that you have read and write any queries or concerns in there about their books so that we may address it for you! Children in Year 4 are expected to change their own books in class each morning if they need to.
Spellings
Spellings are to be completed daily in preparation for Friday's spelling test consisting of the spellings they have practiced that week. Please ensure a sentence is written for each spelling.
Homework club will take place during Friday lunchtime for those who have incomplete homework (Reading, Multiplication practice, Seesaw or Spellings). You will be notified of their presence in their reading records.
If you have any concerns about your child's homework, it is important that we know before Thursday so that we can assist you in any way possible.
