The children designed and created poppies from felt and other materials.
Year 6 visited the Imperial War Museum. We made special documentaries (coming soon!) with SMASH TV all about WW1. We got to explore the artefacts and even experience life in the trenches. It was educational experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and we couldn’t have been happier to be on a school trip again.
As a hook to our new learning in English and Topic, Year 6 got to experience life in the trenches. After completing their set missions, they looked at a range of sources and discussed their prior knowledge of WW1.
