Welcome to St John Paul! I am so excited to be your teacher this year.

We have made a fantastic start to Year 2 with Miss James, Mrs Durgai and Miss Aster. In Maths we have been learning about Place Value and have been practicing counting in 2s,5s and 10s all the way to 100. We have even started counting in 3s. We have used lots of resources to help with our learning and made the lessons fun.

In English our text is "Goldilocks and The Three Bears" by Lauren Childs. We have been learning about using adjectives, noun phrases and jigsaw conjunctions in our lessons. Soon we will be writing our very own narrative version of the story. Keep an eye on our class page for some examples.

In Science, we are learning about the needs of animals, including humans, and what we need to survive! We thought about what we would take to Mars.

Our Topic this half term is called "The Crown" in this topic we will learning about Queen Elizabeth II. Last week we made fact files on the life of the Queen and we found out lots of interesting things.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday this half term and we are so excited to have the Arsenal coaches with us for PE on Tuesday. On Friday we have PE with Miss James and this term we are learning catching and throwing.
