Home Reading: Reading Records should be returned to school every day and signed by an adult every night.

Homework: Children will be expected to complete one unit of Skills Builders and an activity on Google Classroom each due on a Friday.

Year 6 were fortunate enough to be visited by Author Piers Torday. We have been reading and enjoying one of his books during our Reading and English lessons. He spoke to us all about the magic of reading and how he became an author. The whole session was extremely fascinating! He then signed our very own copies of his book, ‘The Last Wild’. His story also links to our current Topic and climate change.

The whole of Year 6 were invited to attend a performance of the 'Lion King' at the Lyceum Theater. The last time we were there, we were the ones performing on the stage! It was a fantastic evening adventure and one we will never forget!!

Today, the two Year 6 school council representatives attended the Town Hall with the local mayor and veterans for the 2 minutes silence. They then laid the wreath, created by all the children in Year 6, at St Marys Memorial Garden with representatives from the British Legion.

Yesterday, we had a Judaism workshop with Ruth. She was fantastic! We learnt lots about Jewish Traditions and were able to complete lots of different activities. Ruth brought lots of items with her which we were allowed to investigate.

We attended Mass to celebrate, 'All Saints Day'. Our Chaplaincy team were also commissioned by Father Gideon. It was an extremely special Mass and I cannot wait to see what ideas our Chaplaincy team have.

We recently visited our school library. We were able to borrow books and listen to a story. It was so nice to be able to go back inside our school library and get lost in a world of imagination!

Year 6 visited the Imperial War Museum. We made special documentaries (coming soon!) with SMASH TV all about WW1. We got to explore the artefacts and even experience life in the trenches. It was educational experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and we couldn’t have been happier to be on a school trip again.

Today we celebrated Roald Dahl! Have a look at some of the amazing characters that attended our celebration...
