Curriculum Impact
At Sacred Heart, the impact of our curriculum is seen in the knowledge, skills and attitudes our pupils develop. Children know more, remember more and can do more as they move through the school, and this is reflected in their books, assessments and growing confidence as learners.
We regularly review subjects, talk to pupils and look at their work to ensure learning is well‑sequenced, secure and progressive. Pupils are proud of their achievements and can explain their learning clearly, showing how new knowledge builds on what they already know.
Our curriculum is inclusive and ambitious for all. Disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND receive targeted support that enables them to achieve well and access the full curriculum.
Beyond academic progress, pupils develop resilience, curiosity and strong personal values. They take part in a wide range of enrichment opportunities that broaden their horizons and prepare them for the next stage of their education and life.
We rigorously monitor our curriculum through ongoing subject reviews to ensure that knowledge is clearly sequenced, coherently mapped and securely embedded. As part of this process, we evaluate the quality of pupils’ work and check that outcomes demonstrate strong progression over time.
At Sacred Heart, pupils are enthusiastic and confident in sharing what they know and can do. Their books, assessments and attitudes to learning show sustained progress year on year, reflecting the strength of our curriculum design and the effectiveness of our teaching approaches.
