Homework Expectations

Children receive homework weekly. Please see the timetable below for the requirements in each year group.

Year group/phase
Subject

Reception 

  • Reading records & sound books sent home x5 a week.

  • Practical monthly Maths challenges set in SeeSaw.

Year 1

  • Reading records & sound books sent home x4 a week: Monday-Thursday 

  • Friday: Alternating weeks - Handwriting or Maths homework (SeeSaw) set on a Friday for submission the following Friday. 

Year 2
  • Weekly Maths on Seesaw (Friday-Friday)
  • Weekly spellings (Friday-Friday)
  • Daily reading, a minimum of 10 minutes per night 
Year 3 and 4
  • Weekly spellings (Friday-Friday)
  • Weekly Maths on Seesaw (Friday-Friday)
  • Reading, a minimum of 10 minutes per night with books changed every 2 weeks
Year 5 and 6
  • Daily reading, a minimum of 10 minutes per night 
  • Weekly spellings (Friday-Friday)
  • A rotation of weekly homework covering SPaG, Reading and Maths skills (Friday-Friday)

 

 

 

 

For children in Years 3-6, if homework has not been completed and no timely explanation is given by a parent/carer, then the child will attend homework club on a Friday lunchtime which will be supervised by a phase leader.
