At Sacred Heart, our Catholic faith is lived out each day through our words, actions and relationships. Our mission statement - 'To go forwards together in Christ, to respect our neighbour and to always give our best' -  is at the heart of all we do at Sacred Heart. Together with parents and parish, we seek to develop and nurture the Catholic faith of our children and bring them to a fuller understanding and knowledge of Catholic teaching and tradition. The vital partnership of home, school and parish provides the context for the lifelong process of religious formation. At Sacred Heart we recognise the importance of parents as the child's first teacher and their role in faith development. We aim to work in partnership with parents and seek ways in involving them in the religious life of their children by providing opportunities for them to engage in school life. Parents are invited to attend class assemblies, whole school and class Masses. They are kept informed of what their child will be learning in Religious Education lessons and the events taking place in school through weekly newsletters and half termly Religious Education newsletters.

At Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, children are taught the principles of Catholic Social Teaching found at the core of the Gospel.

We use the Caritas resources and planning overview and look for opportunities to live out the principles in our faith throughout the school year.
