World Book Day
On 4th March we celebrated World Book Day. Here we are dressed up as some of our favourite book characters. Super effort Saint Catherine!
The Tin Forest by Helen Ward
This whole school text tells the tale of an old man who tidies the rubbish in a junkyard and dreams of a better place. We loved this book along with all of the beautiful illustrations that go with it.
Weslandia
This is an amazing picture book with a very important message. It teaches us to never judge other people and to embrace and celebrate what makes us different and unique. Wesley is a very talented person who has a natural gift for invention. This book taught us to ignore 'tormentors' when you know what you are doing is right and believe in yourself no matter what!
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis
This term we read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We really enjoyed learning about this land of talking animals and mythical creatures. Most of this book is set in Narnia, which has been ruled by the White Witch for 100 years of deep winter. Four children are relocated to a large, old country house following a wartime evacuation. The youngest child visits Narnia three times via the magic of a wardrobe in the spare room!
