Religious Education

Pope Francis’ Prayer to Mary during the Coronavirus pandemic:

O Mary,
you always shine on our path
as a sign of salvation and of hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the Roman People,
know what we need,
and we are sure you will provide
so that, as in Cana of Galilee,
we may return to joy and to feasting
after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform to the will of the Father
and to do as we are told by Jesus,
who has taken upon himself our sufferings
and carried our sorrows
to lead us, through the cross,
to the joy of the resurrection.

Throughout Sacred Heart Religious Education plays an important role. We pride ourselves in our children’s ability to express their beliefs from our youngest children all the way up to our oldest children. Throughout the school year our children learn about their own and others faith. We have lots of different activities planned to ensure that all of our children reach their potential in Religious Education. To help your child with their learning please look at our yearly overview to see what will be coming up throughout the year.

Worship also plays an important role in our school. Each class gather throughout the week to worship together. This takes place in phases, classes and whole school. Our children plan some of their class worship sessions with their class teacher and all of the children really enjoy taking ownership of their worship.

Please talk to your child about their Religious Education. You will find that they usually have a lot to tell you!
