Times Tables

We love times tables!

Some of you may already know that in Year 4 children now complete a times tables check at the end of the year.

The national expectation (decided by the government) is that children know their multiplication and division facts up to 12 x 12 (e.g. 6 x 4 = 24 and 24 ÷ 6 = 4) by the end of year 4. We've broken it down so that children start learning their times tables in year 2 and 3 as well, and even in year 1 we start counting in jumps of 2, 5 and 10 to get children ready for times tables.

At Sacred Heart we use Hit the Button, which is a free and very easy-to-use website or app (free to download on tablets and phones), to track our progress as we learn our times tables. You can use the website or the app on a phone, tablet or computer at home as well.
