Hello Year 4R,
I hope you have had a lovely weekend, I can't believe it is July - it has been a strange summer term, but hopefully everything will be a bit more normal in September!
Here is a link to the Blue Peter Summer Challenge:

I have also previously mentioned these books, however I wanted to post the link again as they are really useful for English and Maths concepts:

The BBC website is also really useful too:

Please keep sending in your Black Lives Matter work, your poems, messages and pictures - I will then post them to the website for your friends to see!
Have a lovely week, I look forward to speaking to you on Thursday and seeing you next week!
Miss Roe :)
Hello,
As a school, we would like to create a rainbow with photos of everyone from our school. Each year group has a different colour, our colour is pink! Therefore, please can you send in a picture to admin@sacredheart.islington.sch.uk of you against a pink background, or if this is not possible, a white background! These will then be made into a really special rainbow picture :)
Thank you, Miss Roe.
Good morning 4R,
I hope you have had a lovely weekend.
I spoke to many of you on Thursday, it was so nice to speak you! I am pleased to hear that you have been doing some of your learning packs - please keep going with these, particularly the English, Maths and reading! It is probably best to do a little bit of learning ever so often. If you are finding it difficult to concentrate, you could do 30 minutes of learning, 15 minute break, 30 minutes of learning and so on. Please let me know if you need any help with this.
Please send in your Black Lives Matter posters, newsletters and poems to: admin@sacredheart.islington.sch.uk
Here is a link to some KS2 English and Maths books which I previously recommended:
These are useful to re-cap key concepts and skills.

Hi Ruby,
Thank you for sending in the lovely pictures that you made for your neighbours. It is brilliant to see the pictures in the Waitrose window, imagine how many people see them each day and how happy it makes them! Well done - it was a really kind idea!
Miss Roe
Coronavirus book.
I have found this book about Coronavirus and thought I would share the link with you, so you can listen to it if you would like too. It is an informative book which might be useful to you, as I am sure you have many questions about coronavirus! It is not to worry you, it is just in case you would like some more information and feeling a bit confused! I hope you are all keeping busy and staying safe, Miss Roe.
It's been a long time! Me and my mum have only discovered the lovely videos and messages from Sacred Heart (although my mum managed to find all of the worksheets!)
We hope you are doing well and keeping spirits up! I miss my class mates and hope they are having fun as well as doing their work. I am lucky as I do still speak to Shay and Santiago when we play Fortnite.
My time in quarantine hasn't been that bad because I have found some new talents (keyboard and science). I use my ipad to help me remember the notes to play in songs. With science I have learnt the different parts of the flowers such as the Stamen which is the male part of the flower that produces the pollen.
The worksheets have been challenging but I have been trying to do my best to get them done. My mum has also helped me to discover that I really enjoy doing crosswords and maths puzzles.
I am looking forward to seeing you and the rest of my class again soon. Here are a couple of pictures of me playing the keyboard and learning to cook noodles.
Malakai
Thank you for the lovely message Malakai, don't worry about only finding the videos and messages now, although I am pleased you have found the worksheets! Maybe you could do just some of the worksheets this week, you don't need to complete them all, just try your best! Most importantly, keep practising your times tables, recap conjunctions, adverbs, etc, and enjoy some reading! I am pleased that you have found some new talents - they sound very fun, perhaps you can play a song on the keyboard for us when we are back at school!
This website has some fun science experiments and information on it:
https://www.science-sparks.com/category/key-stage-2-science/
I am also pleased that you are able to still speak to some of your friends.
It sounds like you have been keeping very busy, the crosswords, puzzles and noodles sound great!
Keep up all the great work :)
I am fine thank you, been busy baking for my neighbours, running, bike riding and working - so all good here, I look forward to seeing you all soon though!
Miss Roe.

Hello 4R!
I hope you are all ok,
Below you will find the video for this week, which talks about the learning pack, the quiz and a challenge for the week.
Here is the link for the Islington Library e-books:

We have received some lovely messages, videos and quiz answers:
Thank you Sage for your video, I enjoyed your 2.6 challenge, you managed to dribble the ball many times, well done!
Well done Zipporah and Ruby for your quiz answers, you are both correct!
Message from Zipporah:
Dear Miss Roe,
It's me Zipporah and I'm sending this message to you because I would like to join the Quiz so I answered each question you said in the video. Pls stay safe bye.
Angelo has created a God’s eye, based on the school colours, it is very creative and neat, well done!
Finally, there is a picture of Ruby with her cat Milo – thank you so much for sharing this with us, what a lovely picture. I thought I would just share you a picture of my cat George, as they look so similar!

Hello 4R!
I hope all is well and you are adapting to life at home. I am finding it quite strange and I must admit I do miss the buzz of the classroom and seeing you all every day! However, I look forward to seeing you all soon and listening to your stories of what you have been doing since we have been away!
I hope you have been completing your learning packs and hopefully you are about to start the second week! Please remember to do a little bit every day, I think it's particularly important to keep practising your times tables as well as your spelling, punctuation and grammar. Here is a good website to practice S.P.A.G:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zhrrd2p
Perhaps you could create some posters with the S.P.A.G which you have learnt or create a diary, based on your time at home!
I have been trying to keep myself busy, by running, cycling (only once per day though!) and baking - I made a tasty lemon drizzle cake the other day too! I hope you have been doing some fun activities as well!
Take care of yourselves and your family,
Miss Roe.
Hello everyone,
I hope you are keeping well and safe at home.
Please spend the time when you are away from school completing your home learning packs, as suggested on the timetable. It is also a great time to spend quality time with family at home; perhaps you could read with a family member or create a picture for them.
It is also a good time to start a new hobby or to try an inside activity which you often do not have time for, for example:
In addition, the following websites are great for extra learning:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize
Most importantly, stay safe, enjoy your time at home and be extra kind to those around you!
I look forward to seeing you again soon J
Take care,
Miss Roe.
PS. An extra big thank you to all the NHS workers and delivery drivers!
Hello everyone and welcome to Year 4R’s class page.
The children have settled well and are ready to learn in Year 4!
We have many exciting activities happening this term in 4R, including Disney Workshops, which will take place on Mondays and Fridays throughout this term. We are very fortunate to be able to take part in this project, which should be beneficial and fun for the children. These workshops will be part of the children’s Creative Arts lessons.
PE lessons will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays, please ensure that your child has their PE kit at school for these days.
The title for this term’s topic lessons is ‘The World Through Different Eyes’ where the children will have the opportunity to look at artists such as Warhol and Kandinsky. They have already created some exceptional abstract art; we have some very talented artists in our class! In RE, the children will cover the following topics; ‘In the Beginning’, ‘Other Faiths’ and ‘Advent to Christmas’.
Our class assembly will take place on Tuesday 15th November; we hope that you can attend.
Thank you,
Miss Roe.
